The success of SME Toolkit Road Shows in 2007, SME.com.ph kicked-off its first leg of 12-series road shows on April 17 in the summer capital of the Philippines, Baguio City with the theme: “Bringing Global eBusiness Solutions to the Filipino SMEs.” Local business owners from the said cluster trooped to Ridgewood Residence Hotel; and were enthusiastic about the benefits of what SME Toolkit has in store for pumping-up their ventures.
Ninety Baguio-based entrepreneurs actively participated in the event’s proceedings. Distinguished guests from the Baguio Asociation of Hotels and Inns Incorporated headed by its president, Ms. Jeanine Chan of Mountain Lodge along with other board directors; DTI-CAR officers led by regional chief, Mely Usman and Philexport-CAR president, Ms. Angelita Tumbaga graced the momentous business gathering.
SME.com.ph along with the powerful team of Planters Development Bank’s SME Online Banking, Handy Salary and Handy Credit provided a bundle of SME package for the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in that area. Another great plus for this year’s series of road shows, two of the country’s foremost information and communications technology (ICT) names, Globe Telecom (represented by territory managers, Neville Bañez, Jong Serafin and Janet Briones; territory head, Dennis Marquez) and IBM Philippines (represented by marketing for general business, Mini Cruz- Hormigos, IMC lead Mike de la Cruz and Luzon rep Raymond Guevarra) were there to provide enormous support by sharing mobile/broadband services and enterprise resource systems, respectively.
SME Toolkit’s highlight was the introduction of SME.com.ph’s newly-created and powered social networking site—Bizster.com.ph, which is tailored-fit for the thriving business sector in the country—the SMEs, Planters Development Bank’s main thrust.
“We never cease to find business solutions for our today’s Filipino SMEs. Aside from the efforts we put in to empower businesses to have their Web presence, we, at SME.com.ph provide another powerful tool in expanding the networks of the SMEs via Bizster,” says Adonis Yap, SME.com.ph president.
Since its inception in 2000, SME.com.ph takes pride in maintaining its good relations with its clientele in delivering excellent products and services.
Attendees to the first SME Toolkit road show found the event informative and the Department of Trade and industry even pledged support in endorsing the offering to SMEs.
The road show is an initiative to promote World Bank’s International Finance Corporation and SME.com.ph’s project—SME Toolkit to boost the Philippines’ SMEs. PDB SME Toolkit is an online collection of business tips, forms and tools on Accounting & Finance, Business Planning, Human Resources, Legal & Insurance, Marketing & Sales, Operations and Technology and more.
Next Road Show stop is in La Union at Hotel Ariana, Paringao, Bauang, La Union on Thursday, April 24.
