Masseto
Harmonious marriage between food and wine.
Masseto is one of the hottest dining spots in Salcedo Village, Makati. With the restaurant being owned and managed by the same people running Premium Wine Exchange, expect the eating experience in Masseto to be centered on the wine experience. Upon entering the place, you would easily notice that the excellent design of the interiors are based from wine colors.
“The owners and I have great interest in wine and we want to share to the people our passion for food and wine,” said Tippi Tambunting, executive chef of Masseto.
Visiting Masseto is highly recommended for wine connoisseurs. Masseto has 300 types of wines from all over the world from the French, Italian, Californian, among others. Moreover, there are also exotic wines from the New World proving the depth and high sophistication of the owners.
Having been exposed to several gourmet restaurants during their travels abroad, Tambunting said the owners decided to open a restaurant in Manila that could be at par with the top restaurants in Asia where wine has a major role in the dining experience. Thus, Masseto was born on December 2009.
Since then, Masseto has elicited positive responses from satisfied clients. “We just got big through the word of mouth,” she said.
“We’ve proven Masseto is definitely a good place to eat,” she added.
At present, Tambunting said Masseto is enjoying the patronage from young professionals, middle age executives, senior business managers and foodies who just want to enjoy good food and wine.
Masseto has also organized wine classes to build awareness on wine among Filipinos. Recently, it conducts wine classes every Saturday to interested parties. Furthermore, it has organized a wine event which a featured a major wine maker from Bordeaux, one of the highest wineries in the world.
Masseto offers appetizers, brunch, lunch, dinner, desserts, bar, menu, among others.
Tambunting, a graduate of New York’s Culinary Institute of America, worked at Manhattan’s Museum of Modern Art Restaurant. Upon her return to Manila, Tambunting made a name for herself as one of the most popular chefs for private dinners and special catering events.
Right now, Tambunting is glad Filipinos are starting to enjoy the good combination of good food and wine. “In Masseto, there is a harmonious marriage between food and wine.”
