What is SME.com.ph?
The first investment of its kind in Asia by IFC and the World Bank, it is envisioned that SME Solutions will be “recognized as the developmental partner of Philippine SMEs who are harnessing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to build global competitiveness, to strengthen diverse SME communities and to create enduring difference in their business”.
While Filipino SMEs constitute a significant sector of the economy, their easy access and ability to utilize technologies for progress does not match proportionately. From the World Bank’s policy advocacy to promote SME business growth in developing countries, SME Solutions is designated to provide and support SMEs access to the various facets of ICT and linkage to the global economy through the worldwide reach of the Internet.
Who operates SME.com.ph?
SME.com.ph was innovated and is being operated by SME Solutions, Inc., a joint venture of the World Bank's International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Planters Development Bank, the country’s largest private development bank and acclaimed lead bank for SMEs. SME Solutions, Inc. exists to help Filipino SMEs use Information and Communications Technology as a tool to enrich the way they do business.
